Booze Barons

The Booze Barons are a collection of families and businesses from the Respublika Rovenya.  Largely based around the city of Barton and the Krasnodar Vinyards, the Booze Barons control much of Tersten's alcohol industry. While they have never been officially tied to any organised crime, it is a badly kept local secret that the families use illicit methods to achieve their aims. Why else would their Barton Breweries be protected by high walls, and such unsavoury characters?
Originally, the founding families of the Booze Barons were local producers, who competed against each other for favours from the brutal Tersten State. The families; The Vinkahrov Family, the Tyson Family, and the Meyer Family, held joint control over the Barton Breweries in the name of the State, and of the People's Republic of Lordania. During the Great Revolution, Zelig Vinkahrov united the three families together, turning them against the People's Republic, and ensuring positive relations with the Tersten Government-in-Exile - Only when it was certain the Resistance would win, of course - to allow them to continue operating well into the modern day.
The current leader of the Booze Barons remains Zelig Vinkahrov, but he is aging, and after a recent health crisis, poised not to be long for this world. His intended successor, his daughter Ekaterina Vinkahrov, is said to be much more ruthless than her Father, and intent on expanding the operations of the three families. Her biggest competition comes not from outside, but from within, with Frederick Meyer allegedly attempting to secure the role for himself. Neither seem afraid to get their hands dirty to secure the succession, but have been held back by the aging Zelig's wishes for peace. Once he is out of the picture though, things may change drastically.
