House Urushino Organization in Terria | World Anvil

House Urushino

The house of the twin dragons. Ruled by Lady Simuna Urushino. They are a newer house previously settled by the twins, Soto and Boto Urushino who won the lands after they saved Lord Haraku Farutahn's life in the battle of the Durabo, roughly a century ago. When Haraku gifted the lands to Boto, that him and his sister were twins, meaning they shared a soul the lands should be granted in both of their names. And so it was, and so House Urushino was born.

Structure

One of the few Noble houses to be ruled by not one, but two lords, male and female in their stead. They believed that it was the might of a man and the cunning of a woman that was required to rule a realm. It was only when Lady Simuna was granted the new Lady of the lands that the tradition stop, since she was an only child, despite her father's many attempts at having a son.

Assets

The House is located in Turugai, which is abundant in good lands to mine and quarry for plenty of stone, iron, and copper alike. To the south, is the small town of Tegu where there harbor's are located.
Since the Yujihima rebellion and the battle of Burning Bridge, most of the Dragon Lord's navy have been allocated to House Urushino after her courage strike against Mitabuna and the destruction of their navy. Over the course of many battles, she's proven herself an excellent naval combatant.

History

It was durring the battle of Durabo when House Tanaku rebelled against House Farutahn in claims against the ownership of Dragon Island that House Urushino was born. The twins, Boto and Soto were ordered with protecting their Lord Haraku Farutahn. It came to a close call on his life, when a cavalry charge broke their left flank and went straight for Haraku's and his guardsmen. Their guardsmen managed to hold off the next cavalry charge, but they were breaking. Many of the guardsmen started to route and flee the battlefield, but Boto and Soto remained. When Lord Barato the right hand to Haraku was slain, it seemed the end for Haraku, but Boto and Soto remained. Repelleding against every charge with what remaining guardsmen were left.
Eventually, reinforcements arrived and saved them from certain doom. But even then, it was Boto and Soto who remained when all others would have run. And for that, Haraku was most pleased and promised Boto lordship and Soto could find herself a lord to marry. This was a gracious gift, but at the request of Boto, he asked if they could hold their lands and titles together as they were twins. Although confused, Lord Haraku found this agreeable and granted them the mountains to the south, and lands beyond.
