Third Trade War

The Third Trade War was a conflict between the United Human Federation and the Glacier Empire. Having won the last two, High King Filarion II would spark the third trade war, confident he would win it.

Prequel Events.

The third trade war very nearly happened during the reign of High King Sapthan Glacier. His realm he inherited was near breaking point, mostly due to the combative nature of his father. The previous trade war had seen the Snow Elves barely capture the victory. The result was that they charged the Humans of the United Human Federation, UHF, a large amount for reparations. They also installed a tax that was paid on every purchase the Humans made when trading, which was made worst by the faction the Varatosh Trading Company, a state owned company back in Heleg Parath, was installed as the only company allowed to do business in Voronda.

High King Sapthan Glacier had for a few years before taking the throne, met with delegates from the UHF. He heard how extreme factions were becoming more popular and a third trade war was likely to be about to occur. They were very clear the trade embargos and taxes were causing many problems.

Once he took the throne, he removed the Glacier tax from the UHF, he also decreed that the Varatosh Trading Company, could not keep its monopoly. This would result in the merchants revolt . But after the revolt, the government of the UHF agreed to further talks and a third trade war was temporarily avoided. His son however would rekindle the fire. In the eyes of the UHF they had seen the High King go to war to end the trade embargo on the UHF.

This averted the trade war for a short time, as once Sapthan son, Filarion Glacier II, took power, he would immediately begin ramping up actions against the Humans, wishing to start another trade war.
