Calneris Carnen is the stern ruler of Old and New Sotafel. A old elf now, in his Twilight years. [add physical description]
The Mountain Wolf:
Calneris Carnen goes through three stages in his life. First is the pompous heir, this was the time until his father, Ostarion Carnen died. His father wasn't a strong man, nor was he weak. But for a great lord he was remarkably unknown, Calneris worked to try and change that. The second phase was his time as a the strong and wise noble. He came to a power during a time of decline during the Snow Elves, coming to power thirteen years before the High King Sapthan Glacier. They had only met a hand full of times before the High King was crowned, however every time they had met, Calneris had been a useful servant. The final stage of his life was the vengeful father. After losing his two sons, he became to realise the Carnen curse was real, he tried desperately to prevent it from taking his last child, but died before he could.
Personal History
The Pompous Heir.
Calneris was the first son of Lord Ostarion Carnen, born in the second era, on the year 536. His father had married Keirigeth Glacier, sister of a future king. A match no one had expected but it bore many good fruits. It made Calneris the cousin of the future High King Sapthan Glacier, yet despite this they never met when they were children. His father would have a second child, a daughter, Rindel Carnen.
His father, High Lord Ostarion Carnen was a weak ruler. His primary outlook was only to act when it didn't cause problems for others, especailly the Dukes within his regions. He was an elf who did not wish to cause any ripples or offence. He never led armies, he never went to court. He stayed locked away in Othrond, playing at being a High Lord.
Calneris learnt what it meant to be truly brave from his mother, Princess Keirgeth Glacier. In Maril Osto she had been raised to be a princess, one who was doted on and cared for. But when she arrived in Othrond, she was greeted with a completely different culture, because in Othrond she-elves are treated as equals. So while she was treated as the High Lady and a princess. She was also free to chase her wants and wishes as she pleased, regardless if the royal court would have deemed it unbecoming of a she-elf. In Sotafel She-Elves had just as much a right to bear a sword as their male counterparts. It was in this environment that Keirigeth thrived so well.
