Lunis

Perhaps the most civilized country of the four that populate Ogros, Lunis is a moon elf kingdom located in the northeast of Ogros. Their physical separation from The Red Frontier via The Crescent Peaks has allowed them a relative degree of peace from their more unruly neighbors, and as such, Lunis is less wary of any political threats on the continent. Being an Elven nation, Lunis is populated by a few massive cities located in their sprawling greatwood forests. The few outsiders lucky enough to witness these cities have described them as being almost indescribably wonderful.   Lunis is a nation that carries a deep devotion to Terramor’s moon, Thodenus and the moon Goddess Gellene. Almost all activity in Lunis occurs during the night, and they have several festivals dedicated to the cycles of the moon. Most elves from Lunis carry a deep, almost innate attachment to Gellene, and it is not uncommon to see her symbol somewhere upon their body.

Structure

Lunis is run by the High Elf, who functions like a monarch to the country. Directly under the high elf is the Lunarian High Council, which consists of three high moon elfs. This council provides guidance to the High Elf. The council fulfills the roles of treasurer, high moon priest, and law master.    At the more local level, those under the moon priest are known as moon acolytes and the those who serve the law master are known as protectors.

Culture

Lunis as a nation is very nocturnal in nature. Most of their cities have a very clear view of the night sky so that they may view Thodenus. The worship of Gellene is very important to Lunarians, and heretics will not be heeded lightly. The elves of Lunis certainly acknowledge the existence of the other Gods, and may even cast the occasional prayer for one of them, but the main focus of their faith will always be Gellene. Many cities in Lunis are very dimly-lit. Elves' natural darkvision removes their need for most natural light. An outsider exploring the Lunis capita of New Moon would likely require a torch to be able to successfully make their way across its winding wooden bridges.   Lunis culture has an air of indifference to those around them. Given the extended lifetime of Elves, many Lunarian citizens regard the world with only minor amusement.

Public Agenda

To protect its citizens, worship the moon, and root out any and all heretics that would deny Gellene the worship she deserves.

Assets

Lunis has a small elven military, several horses, a small navy, a rather large reserve of coin, and very finely crafted Elven weaponry. Practically all cities in Lunis are located within their massive forests several hundred feet off the ground. This acts as a natural fortification against would be invaders.
