Corbyn was a wealthy merchant who lived in Zayda during its earliest years as a settlement. Corbyn made most of his fortune trading various rare magical artifacts that had been excavated in the Holy Sands. Corbyn developed a bit of a reputation within the people of Zayda for his eccentric demeanor and his fascination with the strange beasts that prowled the lands.
As his wealth grew, Corbyn eventually realized that rather than risking his own skin to acquire new artifacts and monsters, he could simply pay the young and foolish to accomplish his goals for him.
