Ko'owla Bear
Diminutive cousins of the greater owlbears that stalk the Wasted States and other territories throughout the Sundered Realm, ko'owla bears are generally peaceful, predominantly tree-dwelling creatures that live in Kooriland and Topenn. They feed on eucalyptus leaves, insects, and small birds, mammals and reptiles.
For most of the year ko'owla bears are more or less placid, but there is a drastic shift in their behaviour from early spring through to mid-summer, when their breeding and young-raising season begins. During this time ko'owla bears become aggressive, defending their mates and young ferociously, and some may say excessively. Ko'owla bears have sharp beaks and claws, but one of their best attacks against predators is a drop attack. Their tendency to drop out of trees to land on predators - and unsuspecting passersby - has earned them the nickname "drop bears".

Basic Information
Anatomy
The skeleto-muscular structure of a ko'owla bear is much like that of a regular koala, with the greatest difference being their skulls. Ko'owla bears skulls have a number of pointedly owl-like features, namely their beak and large eyes.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Large eyes that gather and reflect small traces of light give ko'owla bears night vision that extends to 120 feet beyond them.
A keen sense of smell gives ko'owla bears an advantage when sniffing out prey or predators.
