Chapter 14: The Betrayer

General Summary

The party is able to solve the puzzle of the oil room only to enter a maze with the doors locking behind them, the only way is forward. Finally, the reach the end of both the maze and Grimjaws Treasure Hold and waiting for them is an automaton man with a huge slash across his chest and 3 large chests which should hold the treasure... but are completely empty. After some makeshift repairs and some translating the party learns that Jock Fireblast stole the map before them and escaped. Furious and confused the party returns to the surface with their new friend Firstmate Titan only to find that Isabelle's ship was also attacked. The party returns to BBQ Bay looking for a fight! They see most of the inhabitants are either dead or have escaped leaving only the Guards and Jock to deal with. On the upper level, they find Jock about to make the final blow on Spacker LeChuck as he says NOTHING WILL STAND IN MY WAY, I SHALL BURN DOWN BBQ BAY AS I DID FARE MISTRAL. Just before Spacker is killed the party intervenes, but Jock seems to have some sort of strange power on his side making the fight more difficult than expected. After killing Jock and the guards they find that he also does not have the map, so his ship will be the next and last option. Onboard they find his ship connected to a strange underground cave with an open portal waiting for them. Going through they find the second map fragment and quickly escape. With map in hand, the party escapes BBQ Bay as its burn embers slowly sink into the depths.

A large red hawk carrying a letter addressed to Kay- Ron from a mysterious person who says he can clear Kay Ron's bounty.
