Chapter 13: The Pirates of BBQ Bay

General Summary

Arriving at Stoneholm they are greeted by gigantic dwarven statues and large cooling lava pits. At the entrance, the see a dwarf arguing with the guard captain who is refusing to let anyone in due to rotting plague. The party learns that this dwarf goes by the name of Spacker LeChuck, the Captain of a ship called the Golden Chariot. He decides to just head back to BBQ Bay, which intrigues the party due to the fact that a map fragment could be there. Edward "Old' Peculiar says he has some unfinished business he must attend to and that he will meet the party back at Stoneholm if he can. On the journey to BBQ Bay, the party finds the Tomb of Lehparsi a strange sandstone structure with runes marking the walls. delving deeper they hear strange rumblings deeper in but decide not to get killed horribly. After that, the continue on their way and finally arrive at BBQ Bay. However, there is no welcoming party only cannon fire, as they are asked to assassinate a pirate by the name of Grimjaw Slugface who is being accused of becoming influenced by an outside force. They are offered this by the leader of the Council, Jock Fireblast, who gives them 70 gold per person. With the promise of money they will kill anyone so they quickly murder Grimjaw and burn down his ship and all of his belongings, Including his maps oh no! They learn about his hidden treasure hold that could possibly house the map fragment they are looking for, but the Dread Pirate Norris is the only person who knows of its location, Luckily she is in port. The party pleads with her asking if they could join and she abides but only if they can save her first mate who is in the treasure hold. The party learns that her name isn't actually Norris but Isabella Peculiar and the sister of Edward "Old' Peculiar, but before they can get more info they arrive at the treasure hold. delving inside they find it to be booby-trapped and puzzles. we are left with the party's path being blocked by a Rust Monster and a room-filling up with oil. How will our heroes prevail?
