Each university’s building is unique, causing the district to have a chaotic look. Some are tall with towers, some short with round tops, some float, some are built directly into stalagmites that tower over everything. They are all lit with magical lighting of various kinds and colors. The streets between are all kept uniform however, carved from the natural stone and worn smooth by the pounding of countless feet over the years. The proximity of raw magic makes hair stand on end and what seems like a light breeze flows over everything, regardless of walls. The magic itself carries the scent of the environments it permeates; molten rock, ozone, the sea, and an almost herbal smell mingle and linger over the area.
Notable Inhabitants:
Magitek students ready to study advanced magics: usually children of wealthy families, but on occasion someone might receive a scholarship if they are exceptionally skilled and very lucky. Professors of great renown teach here and have their own living quarters. Some professors are also researchers, and many things have been discovered about magic and the Ley Line at the laboratories within these schools.
What is there?
The universities of the highest renown in the city are located here. Well-known magitek inventors and researchers (Steve Jobs and Elon Musk types) all attended schools in this district. The schools also double as research centers focused on magic itself; how it works, where it comes from, is it limited, etc.
Main Attraction:
Located directly in the center of the city, this district sits on top of where the Ley Line flows. This is the closest anyone can be to the Weave itself. Magic flows freely and easily here, making the most difficult works of magic more attainable.
