Runevale is the cultural, historical, political capital of Kisland. With a population count in the millions, Runevale is the largest city on Kesmyr, located in the Expanding Valley. Runevale is one of the most affluent locations in Kisland, notable as the center of Magitechnology and innovation within the country.
Description
Runevale itself is made up of 5 different floors, each with it's own inhabitants and specialties. Starting from the top, the Aetherward, Archonus, Hexcross Bay, Karnavati, and Ullin'Tharnor. The Aetherward and Archonus float above the ground within their own landmasses. Hexcross bay sits on the ground floor while Karnavati and Ullin'Tharnor are below the earth, expanding into the underdark.
The city at the distance is a grand view of magitechnological advancement. High within the clouds, one can see the weather being collected by those upon the Aetherward. Shining gilded lights sparkle within the sunlight from Archonus. The rich and strange colors of Hexcross Bay fill the eyes like a quilted tapestry. The rumblings of progress can be heard beneath the earth. Rich bio luminescent colors light up Ullin'Tharnor.
Geography
Of it's own making, Runevale sits within the center of the Expanding valley as the city takes up the vast resources to power their civilization. Running through Hexcross bay is the Februus River, helping to cleanse the contaminants from the bay. Roads from various directions through the valley all meet at Runevale. Artificial woodlands and forest sit within and around the valley, bringing a lush view to the area.
Life in Runevale
As befitting of it's technological prowess, Runevale is an ever expanding and evolving city, and gigantic community that encompasses all. Transportation is available through each floor via magic circles, airships, railways, canals, roads for vehicles, elevators, and if you are particularly impoverished; stairs.
Need to communicate?
The most affluent and wealthy of individuals own Scry Phones, magical crystals that allow individuals who are attuned to one another to scry and send messages to eachother. For everyone else, couriers allow the mailing of letters within the same floor for 1 CP and between floors for 5 CP. Packages can be sent from 5 CP to 5 GP depending on the size.
Mages and Artificers can also send Sending spells for 200 GP.

Magewrights, magineers and adepts can be found in most floors of Runevale, selling their services.

These costs can vary depending on the spell and the spellcaster, and they don’t include the price of expensive components. People who can cast higher-level spells are rare, typically found only in the noble houses or the wizard circles; the cost and availability of such services varies based on the caster.
Education and Research
Courage Magitechnology University, though not the most affluent institution of higher learning in Runevale, has an extensive library that boasts definitive collections of lore in certain fields, particularly arcana, magineering, enchanting, geography and history. Characters seeking knowledge in any of these fields or others ought to be able to find resources in the library to aid their search. The university is an excellent source of sages who hire their services out on a short- or long-term basis. Even those who profess to be sages but have no connection to the university tend to cluster around the University District, with their homes and businesses almost all located in the University, the Aetherward, and Ullin'Tharnor.
Another important site for certain kinds of research is the City Archive, in theHouse of Commons in Archonus. The archive contains exhaustive historical documents of Kisland; birth, death, and marriage records; and copies of legal documents such as identification papers and letters of marque issued in the city. Access to these records, however, is more restricted than to the contents of the Courage Magitechnology University library.
Those who want to further their research through some hands-on experience might find undiscovered lore in Karnavati, where sewers and tunnels snake through old buildings. Similarly, the tunnels of the Underdark might hold some relevant historical information.
