Gunpowder

Ever since its first introduction some 300 years prior, gunpowder weapons have caught on in many of the more industrious nations of the world. Their lethality is coupled with their fairly simple use and large groups of soldiery can be trained in a relativly short time compared to other weapons. Rarity however is largly a question of proximity to the great powers.
