Temple Hill
History
Much like Goblin's End, Temple Hill was part of the settlement of DunMornay before the founding of Sutheria, but where Goblin's End declined, Temple Hill maintained, in part because of the money poured into it by the religions and the royal family. Temple Hill is a hill, but a not an especially large one, and topped by the temple to Alanus. Originally, it held a good percentage of DunMornay's population, but this has been pushed to the fringes as the borough developed.
Most of the major religions can be found here, if they are not too distasteful and not represented elsewhere in the city. Due to the status the location has been given, businesses and public projects and services have also moved here, including the college of wizardry. It is a fine location and features the jewels of DunMornay.
The inhabitants of Temple Hill are not wealthy. They work in the borough, doing menial jobs, and generally just keep their heads down. Dwellings are usually terraces or attached to the rear of larger buildings. They are the clerks, the acolytes, the students, and the cleaners. Some smaller shop owners live in the area as well. The burgomeisters, however, are usually chosen from the civil servants or religious devotees, elected by the inhabitants. Often, this means that the burgomeister do not reside in the district but this rarely causes issues, as most the of the burgomeisters are chosen for their selflessness.
