Goruthar
Goruthar, The Prince of Beasts
Lord of the Labyrinth, The Horned Hunger, The Savage Whisper
Domain & Philosophy
Deep within the Unending Chasm, where reality itself twists into an endless maze of horror and confusion, lies The Labyrinth, an abyssal plane of ever-shifting corridors, endless tunnels, and nightmarish dens of slaughter. This is the domain of Goruthar, the Prince of Beasts, the embodiment of untamed savagery and the insidious call of bloodlust.
Unlike mindless beasts, Goruthar is not merely a creature of brute force—he is a deceiver, a corrupter who whispers to the hearts of warriors, hunters, and rulers alike. He does not demand open worship; rather, he infects the soul, planting the idea that dominance, violence, and conquest are the only truths. He convinces the noble that they must embrace brutality to survive, the righteous that they must kill without mercy to bring order, the weak that they must become monsters to be strong.
Goruthar's philosophy is simple: civilization is an illusion, and at the core of all beings—mortal or divine—lies the same primal hunger for violence, power, and conquest. He whispers to kings that their rule is only secure through fear, to warriors that battle is its own purpose, and to the meek that only through bloodshed can they ever be free. His is the voice that turns man into beast, law into tyranny, and war into endless slaughter.
Appearance & Presence
Goruthar is a monstrous titan of blackened fur and iron, standing 20 feet tall (6.1 meters), his form both regal and bestial in its sheer, overwhelming presence. His massive frame is sculpted with raw power, his thick, corded muscles layered beneath a hide tougher than steel. His broad chest and shoulders bear the scars of countless battles, wounds that never heal—testaments to the violence that fuels his very existence.
Six great, iron-forged horns rise from his skull, twisted like the jagged spires of a ruined fortress. These horns are not natural, but rather forged from the souls of fallen champions, each one a monument to a warrior who fell to the savage truth he embodies. His burning red eyes, flickering with an infernal light, see not just flesh but into the hearts of those who gaze upon him—seeking weakness, stirring rage, igniting the primal thirst for destruction.
His hooved feet shake the ground with each step, sending cracks through reality itself, as if the world rejects his presence. His massive hands, each tipped with thick, black talons, are equally suited for strangling prey as they are for wielding his legendary weapons.
A deep resonant growl constantly emanates from his chest, like the distant rumble of an approaching storm. When he speaks, his voice is not a shout, nor a roar—it is a whisper, creeping into the ears of mortals and immortals alike, planting the seeds of rage, suspicion, and unshakable thirst for blood.
Weapons & Powers
Goruthar does not fight as a mindless beast—he is a master of brutality, wielding both raw strength and insidious cunning.
- The Maw of the Labyrinth – His colossal, serrated battle-axe, its jagged edges dripping with the agony of the lost. Every soul slain by this blade is bound to the Labyrinth, their screams forever echoing through its halls.
- The Chains of the Hunt – A pair of massive, barbed chains, coiled around his forearms like living serpents. These chains lash out at will, entangling prey and dragging them into the depths of madness, where their minds are consumed by the savage instincts Goruthar cultivates.
- The Blood Howl – With a single roar, Goruthar can ignite the primal instincts in those who hear it. Courage turns to recklessness, reason to wrath, and unity to betrayal. Even the mightiest of warriors risk turning on their allies under his influence.
- The Labyrinth’s Curse – None can hunt Goruthar, for his domain is an endless, shifting maze, warping time and space itself. Those who pursue him find themselves lost, starving, and maddened, their desperation slowly twisting them into monstrous reflections of their own worst instincts.
Followers & Worship
Goruthar does not demand worship in the way other demon lords do. Instead, his influence seeps into the minds of those who fight, hunt, or rule through force. His "followers" are often unaware they serve him until it is too late.
- Blood Cults – Small, nomadic warbands that offer up slaughter in his name, believing themselves chosen to enact the true law of nature: strength above all.
- Corrupt Champions – Warriors, gladiators, and knights who once fought for justice, only to succumb to the intoxicating thrill of war. They believe that morality is weakness, and Goruthar whispers to them, guiding them further into savagery.
- Tyrants & Warlords – Rulers who embrace absolute dominance, believing that fear and brutality are the only ways to rule. The most powerful of these often receive Goruthar’s blessing, their forms warping into minotaur-like fiendish monsters.
- Beastlords – Those who reject civilization entirely, leading packs of savage beasts and monstrous warriors, embracing the belief that law, kindness, and restraint are unnatural lies.
His influence is insidious, spreading like a whisper in the dark, a temptation to unleash the beast within. Even those who do not worship him directly may still serve his will, simply by giving in to their own worst instincts.
Goruthar’s Eternal Ambition
Unlike other demon lords who crave conquest or destruction, Goruthar desires something far deeper—something inevitable. He does not need to tear down civilization himself, for he knows it will collapse on its own. He knows that beneath every law, every nation, and every alliance lies the raw, primal hunger for power and violence.
He does not rush his conquest. Instead, he waits. He whispers. He watches as even the most righteous warriors find themselves tempted by the rush of battle, as kings turn to brutality to hold their thrones, as civilizations devour themselves in endless wars.
For in the end, all things will return to the beast.
