Castellan's Festhall Menu

An elaborate feast meal presented by the Castellan to honor six adventurers who rescued several missing citizens from the Caves of Chaos, and showed true heroism in the face of many dangers.

• Lorfel, a prognosticator.
• Mae, a sylvan devotee of Nylea.
• Rongo, a swordsman-at-arms.
• Xi Shi, a warrior-woman of the Old Races.

Itinerary

The 9-course menu itself can be reviewed under 'actual contents'. At the top of the sheet is an itinerary for the night's entertainment:

1. 7:30p - 8:15p Greet and mingle. Light finger-foods and a pre-meal wine to awaken the appetite.
2. 8:15p - 8:35p Seating of the guests. The soup. The Castellan bestows his thanks to the gods.
3. 8:35p - 8:55p The adventurers recount their first tale. The appetizer.
4. 8:55p - 9:15p The adventurers recount their second tale. The salad.
5. 9:15p - 9:40p The adventurers recount their third tale. The fish.
6. 9:40p - 10:15p A prayer of thanks from the Serene Mistress. An instrumental quartet. The main course.
7. 10:15p - 10:25p Palate cleanser. A game of riddles.
8. 10:25p - 10:50p Dessert. Acrobats and Juggling.
9. 10:50p - 11:05p Mignardise. The dinner is concluded with an instrumental quartet.

After the mignardise has been served, guests to retire to the parlor, study, smoking room and trophy room for additional conversation and entertainment as desired. Staff service will conclude at midnight.

The menu is intended to excite the guests in anticipation of the fare, entertainment, and delights of the evening.

  • Cucumber-skirted dill havarti bites
  • Crayfish fritters
  • Spinach-potato samosas
• Soup
  • Pease soup with finely diced fried bacon
  • Tomato-corn bisque
• Appetizer
  • Candied carrots with honey, cumin and paprika
  • Savory spiced oysters
  • Mushroom caps stuffed with cheese and sweet cornbread crumbles
  • whitefish squares on sheets of roasted eggplant
• Salad
  • Spiced chickpea and chopped cherry salad on crisp spinach
  • Lovage herb and edible flower salad with string mushrooms

  • Lemon-sage river trout with peeled white beans, served on toasted rye trenchers

  • Roast haunch of rosemary-speared venison with garlicked potato slivers, grilled young asparagus and a cherry-orange compote

  • Toffee-crusted angel sweetcakes with orange and lemon muhallebi
