The Danuat

The Danuat is the realm of darkness surrounding Tergaith, the middle world, in all directions. It is the moat preventing mere mortals from crossing into Ain, the realm of the living Gods, and it must be navigated successfully by the impure, but not fully evil souls of the dead if they are to find repose and not remain in Tergaith to harass the still-living. Evil souls and the forgotten, dishonored and unworthy dead pass into Gloel, which might be reached physically if one journeys very deep below the surface of the world, far from Yamut's rays.
