Siluru
Siluru, the Lady of Bloom and Rot, is the patron goddess of the Capitol City of Marlamma and her temple complex dominates the Temple District in the northwest section of town.
Divine Domains
Siluru combines the forces of life and death into one powerful being. as a greater deity, she has oversight of every birth, every sprouted seed, every blooming flower, and the moment of sunrise - as well as the first moment of darkness after the sun has set, the withered plant, the rotten grain, and the faded flower. Lesser deities of both agriculture and the underworld answer to her.
Rough equivalents of this kind of deity include Osiris and Mithra; Siluru embodies the concepts of Pluto and Persephone, or Inanna and Ereshkigal, into a single deity.
Siluru is, by extension, the patron of the entire Marlammite Empire as well as of the City of Marlamma. Furthermore, the God Kings and Queens ruling over the empire are vessels for her divine spark as well, much as Osiris was both born and died as an aspect of the rulers of Egypt, the God remaining while the physical bodies came and went over the decades, centuries and millennia.
Tenets of Faith
Siluru is the embodiment of the Great Circle of Life, and any things which interfere with the natural progression of that circle at either end are detestable to her. She hates unnatural death as much as she hates the unnatural prolongation of mortal life.
The undead, however, fall into a sort of technicality, as they are both in a state of rot and in a state of life at the same time; the sin is in using undeath as a way to avoid a mortal death, like a lich, or to aggregate power and endure far beyond a normal lifespan as a vampire. A mummy, on the other hand, is quite dead, but has been brought back by some external power; the sin was committed by the necromancer, if some other mortal compelled unlife back into the corpse. A mummy or any undead creature that returns simply to avenge itself does not invite her wrath, and indeed my enjoy her blessings, depending on the nature of the vengeance.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Siluru is a goddess of balance and the long, long, LONG view, second only to Yamut's cycles but his motions happen every day, while hers take an entire year or an entire lifetime. Tenma is also her kin, with a longer and far more fickle cycle, beset by suitors - but one of those, Kelenna, is an important lesser goddess of planting and the harvest sworn to serve Siluru even while she dallies with Tenma for a few months every few years.
Unlike Feshurzu, her minion who is also the King of Gloel, the underworld, Siluru has no particular interest in the dead, but rather in the act of dying itself, the strange, mystical and often nebulous moment between life and death. And unlike the deities in other pantheons who have power over one or the other, Siluru grants life and death with equal power from her own hands, whether palms are outstretched in bounty or fists gripped tight around the last grain in the storehouse. Famine, disease and pestilence are other subdomains where she walks familiar paths.
