Ordu Character in Ter-Air-Leth | World Anvil

Ordu

(a.k.a. The Great Maker, The World Spirit)

Ordu is an over-god given domain over all that composes Ter-Air-Leth and is a master of all the crafts that shape it. He created the fathers of the Elves, Dwarves, and Men. Ordu's themes center around the elemental aspects of which Ter-Air-Leth is made; Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Ether   Before the beginning, Ordu took the elements of Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Ether, bringing them together to form Ter-Air-Leth. He then turned to the others of the Numen Prime to shape and mold Ter-Air-Leth. First to Nadarean to provide beasts and plants to nourish the lands. He then tasked The Traveler to give the gift of wonder, so all corners of his creation will be explored. Ayoka provided the world with chaos and entropy. Aker was commanded to tend to the faded and moribund. Each of the Six have a role to play and often even they cannot step back to see the larger forces at work. Ordu maintains the Numen Six and they, in turn, maintain Ter-Air-Leth.

Ordu takes pleasure and pride in the craftsman of the world. Iit does not matter what they create as long as they are creating. The Great Maker’s presence can be felt when something new is created. When a potter takes his work out of a kiln and it does not shatter, Ordu has blessed it. Even the ones that do break are gifts from The Great Maker, as they provide a lesson and an opportunity to improve. His presence can also be felt in something as simple as the sun warming your face, for all things on Ter-Air-Leth came from The World Spirit.

Tenets of Faith

The followers of Ordu follow two basic dogmas: Respect all that is around you, and create something that leaves this world a better place than how you found it. Firstly, The Great Maker teaches all creatures and the land should be respected as they all come from The Great Maker. Everyone and everything is related, sharing a piece of The World Spirit within them. Secondly, he teaches to create something that leaves the world a better place than you found it. This does not necessarily mean to create something with a physical craft, but create a relationship that helps those around you, create a sense of community, creating stronger bonds to those around you. However, the majority of his followers are craftsmen, carpenters, sculptors, painters, builders, seeing their work as a continuation of The Great Maker’s work.
