The Gardens of Knowledge
The Gardens of Knowledge, or Chisiki-no-Teien, is the metaplane ruled by the goddess Tamamo-no-Mae. This enchanted realm mirrors the goddess's dual obsessions with knowledge and beauty. Ever-blooming cherry blossoms form the backbone of the landscape, their trunks shaped into bookshelves that house vast collections of knowledge from all over the Material Plane, and every plane beyond.
Inhabitants and Servants
The goddess's servants, the Kitsu Okami, are powerful fox spirits known for bringing good fortune and new knowledge to their mistress. The Kitsune, said to be descendants of the children Tamamo-no-Mae bore while still mortal, often embody her divine aspects, displaying cleverness, allure, and a penchant for trickery. Though their connection to the goddess is difficult to verify, the empire largely tolerates and overlooks this "minor" taint on the ruling bloodlines.Manifest Zones
Manifest Zones linked to the Gardens of Knowledge in the Material Plane are characterized by their blend of scholarly pursuit and serene beauty. Their influence promotes an eternal spring, where tempers are soothed and it is easier for the mind to focus. Vines and flowers interweave with nearby structures, enhancing their appeal without ever threatening to overwhelm or fully overgrow. At the same time, such zones seem to be rife with playful tricks and illusions, and foxes are often sighted frolicking or making mischief.
