Court of the Beggar King

What is known of the "Beggar King" and his court is hard to believe. The Beggar King is simultaneously a powerful monarch and a lowly urchin, an intrepid strategist and a blind fool. Moreover, his court is said to be everywhere and nowhere and hold sway throughout the cities in the realm of Tentandia. If such a figure were to truly exist, and exist in the manner of which the tales imply, he would have to be one of the most powerful individuals in Tentandia. In any case the power of the Court of the Beggar King cannot be understated, as the Beggar King has become a legend to the people of Tentandia.   The little that can be confirmed to any degree of certainty is as follows. The Court of the Beggar King stands as a nebulous entity, holding no place except that where the Beggar King resides. The makeup of the Court is said to be made up of thieves, cutthroats, urchins, any whom society looks down upon and in so doing overlooks. They are said to operate on the leave and the design of the Beggar King, and as such the power of the Court flows through him, and his power comes from the Court. The Beggar King himself is something of a hero to the people, doing his utmost to help those smallfolk in need, but also has been said to influence the higher politics of the realm on occasion when the need arise. Beyond these claims nothing further is certain. Even in these claims nothing is certain, and the Court of the Beggar King remains a mystery.

The Seven and the Court of the Beggar King

While performing a heist for Lord Alfred of Oxford, the Seven were approached by an unknown elf who offered to meet the Seven at an undisclosed location.  The elf indicated that there would be a lucrative opportunity for the Seven if they were to betray Lord Alfred and give the royal diadem of Oxford to him and his associates instead of Alfred.  After mulling the offer over the Seven declined.  While the operative never gave his affiliation, his motives and tactics seemed unsettling to the Seven, and befitting the legend of the Beggar King.
"Many folk whisper tales of the Court of the Beggar King throughout Tentandia, for if these tales were told above a whisper few would believe them to be true anyway."
