Servants of Khuldor

Because of the secretive nature of Khuldor’s servants, there was no centralized leadership. Rather, numerous cults proliferated around the world, all professing to worship the same god. High priests led the various cults and acted as prophets. These leaders were called Interpreters due to the supposed visions they received from the god. Revelations guided the actions of the Interpreter’s followers.    The Secretive One went by numerous names depending on where his worship spread. To the Venians, he was Kalderus, a god of hidden power, sorcery, and knowledge. The Diakai called him Kaladoros, with attributes similar to the Venian god. Both cultures considered him a powerful spirit rather than a typical god. Satri called him Kuludara, a name they received from the Barturi and Hetmiri. In the eastern provinces of Satra, the god was associated with secrets and all aspects of society that were considered taboo under normal circumstances.   The cults’ rites were unknown to the uninitiated, but dark rumors persisted in hushed tones. Human sacrifices were alleged to be carried out in his name, death coming to the victims in the most horrendous ways. Burnings, stonings, crushing, and torture were not unheard of. Other, more peaceful congregations engaged in wild orgies fueled by drugs and alcohol. Nihilism was not uncommon among the Servants of Khuldor, who involved themselves in erratic behaviors to prepare for the end of the world. This behavior was not universal, as visions varied between Interpreters.   Worship centered around idols made of Graystone - which was a gray translucent material that sparkled like polished steel. Stone worship was frequently practiced around the world and, therefore easy to incorporate into religious practice. The stones were extracted from falling stars or mined from the earth. Artisans then carved Graystones into crude and twisted shapes.   The Servants of Khuldor had an ancient history stretching hundreds - if not thousands - of years. He was among the oldest gods, worshiped by humans, elves, and giants alike.
