Holy Books & Codes

The holy texts containing the Messenger's teachings have origins both in his lifetime and those of his immediate successors. First are the scrolls containing the Fahris creation myth and the origin of humanity. Next comes the genealogy of the Messenger, a brief history of his life and sayings, his disappearance. The scrolls end with a hopeful interpretation of the future, where the faithful are blessed with a world just like Dihan - the Fahris name for the world beyond. Many of the faithful, however, have taken different paths to achieve their goal.

Tenets of Faith

Umbalzun is the only deity followed by the Fahris. Originally a fertility god, he rose to become the only god among the elves after His Messenger converted most of his people to the faith. He is now the omniscient deity that oversees every aspect of the Oasis People's lives. Outside the Fahris homeland, he acted as a guardian to His people.
According to His worshippers, life is a challenge to test their virtue. The harsh conditions of their desert wasteland and the difficulties in life are to test the faithful. Those who he deems worthy in life enjoy a blissful afterlife. In Dihan, pure water flows from clear waterfalls and into deep pools, sweet and succulent fruit grows on trees, and there is more food than they could ever consume. The afterlife is an oasis, the likes of which are impossible to find in life. Although this was one interpretation of the world beyond the living among the Fahris, it became orthodox among the Messenger's followers.
