He continued babbling in a panic as the other two dragged him out of the door in response to the leader's head twitch. "What was he babbling about?" Hector asked the client. "The young lady isn't able to bind creatures to strengthen her own self for reasons we are uncertain of, but she remains a master of linguistic techno-magy," the weasely man said. "I must second his recommendation: For your next attempt, don't allow her the opportunity to speak or write."

General Physical Condition

Kistel keeps her lithe muscles in shape by way of a combination of yoga-like exercises and jogging when opportunities present themselves.

Body Features

The olive skin present in most Agafellians (those who don't sport more obvious signs of their extra-mortal heritages, at least) is somewhat-paler on Kistel, as she spends as much time as possible in libraries and research facilities.

Physical quirks

Kistel is right-handed and walks with a confident posture that clearly communicates an expectation of being listened to and respected.

Special abilities

Although she cannot bind spirits and other entities to herself at the moment, Kistel has mastered the ability of impressing script, lines, and curves on objects or the air with a wave of her hand or a mere thought. A cantrip for most types of magic practitioners, this would merely be a parlor trick but for her specializations of study and ability. Kistel's glowing lines of script and sigils will stay in place for several days at a time if she so chooses, and she uses this ability to create complex summoning and binding structures wherever she needs to. This ability can even be used to create only-slightly less-impressive versions of the infamous Symbol spells.
In addition, Kistel has redoubled her efforts with deciphering and making use of Truespeech, the language underlying all of Creation, and can make use of both the spoken and written word to bring forth a variety of effects.
If her back is to a wall, and there is no other way out of a situation, Kistel can bring the angel in her soul to the forefront, empowering her and altering her presence. (She avoids this, as the angel's personality affects her actions while manifested, and it takes a significant effort of will to fully suppress the creature again)

Personal history

Kistel distinguished herself quickly at a very young age, showing a rapid understanding of multiple languages and writing structures. Her mind proved able to comprehend the underlying structures of different languages and cultural mindsets with astonishing speed, granting her great prowess in correctly assembling the bindings needed for non-mortals of all types. Though some thought at first she might have an eidetic memory, capable of recalling experiences and writings with perfect clarity, experimentation showed she was actually creating the binding structures so rapidly by way of intuitive problem-solving processes, rather than memorization of her learnings. In fact, she found over the course of her lifetime she had to work just as hard as others at rote memorization of basic principles.
By the time she discovered the entertainments to be had with boys, she had begun assisting professors in their state-sponsored work for the city, helping them reason out accurate truenames and binding elements for powerful outsiders. She was expected to go on to positions of great prominence in the community, whatever path she chose, and several different groups were impatiently waiting for her coming-of-age binding ritual to approach her.
A major event involving the binding of a powerful celestial through what is now a Forbidden Formula threw a complication into the plans for her career, however. In Agafellian eyes, she is hobbled by her inability to form direct pacts with spirits as a result of the binding, much like some cultures view disabilities of physical or mental varieties. Where before she was recognized as 'The 14th Prodigy,' now she is referred to as 'The Chained Prodigy.'
The modern members of the founding bloodline for the city opted to take a chance on her anyway, allowing her to take the name D'Agafella and giving her a position as Researcher Adjunct with The Emporium.

Sexuality

Thus far, Kistel is quite taken with the entertainments to be had with males; females (or other species' genders, as among the elves) aren't necessarily taboo to her, so much as not even 'on her radar.'

Education

Kistel attended the standard training for Agafellians at The Academies of Agafell, learning processes of problem-solving and experimentation, mathematics with an emphasis on spatial relationships between objects, and multiple languages. Like all Agafellians, she graduated with a fluent expertise in each of the four elemental dialects, Celestial, Abyssal, Common, and the peculiar mix of all of them that comprises the unique Agafellian Trade Dialect. Since graduating, she hasn't stopped studying additional languages, adding Sylvan, Dwarvish, and Elvish to her repertoire. She is currently studying Orc.

Employment

Currently a Researcher Adjunct for The Emporium, a position she was offered quickly after graduating the Academies once she had proven she could still contribute without being able to bind additional entities to herself.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Unprecedented Binding

Kistel corrected one of the infamous Gray Formulas, completing it and successfully binding a planetar archangel of righteous vengeance to her soul and saving the city from a faulty summoning ritual in the process, shortly before her official graduation date from the Academies.

Advancement of Binding Techno-magy

Kistel had already published peer-reviewed articles correcting misunderstandings regarding Ingan and Auran at the age of thirteen, a full two years before her official graduation into adulthood.
Since graduating and being accepted into the founding family for the city, she has helped develop new binding structures to improve the speed and maneuverability of the airships that provide Agafell and The Emporium air superiority.

Failures & Embarrassments

Unprecedented Binding

The formula Kistel successfully proved and used resulted in a (so far) permanent binding of a being to her soul so great that she can no longer sustain the bindings that the citizens of Agafell normally use to enhance themselves, and must now rely on external summonings and lingual techno-magy to implement effects.
