Sîshi Khusi (/sɨˈʃi/ /xuˈsi/)
An Orc innovation since coming here to Tellus and, as is their wont, adopting and adapting what they found of our environment and resources to fit their own needs.
Meaning no more than 'box house' in Orcish, these portable huts are easy to build, can be moved on wagons, are strong enough to be swung around on cranes as they are erected and broken down, and can be constructed with raw materials easily found and at hand around them. They are often stacked in a timber frame, two or even three high at times, to make the best of their available space.
Purpose / Function
These are multi-purpose huts, capable of housing troops or storing gear and supplies. They are so light and easily manipulated that they are often repurposed after their oroginal owner dies, or upgrades.
Alterations
They are all basically the same, sometimes they have slight variations in color due to the timber being used. They are built a lot like a hanging birdhouse, with a hatch and hook in the roof for a crane to be able to more easily move them around.
Architecture
They are built with a post-and -beam mentality, and held together by pinned and glued mortise and tenon joints. This allows for rigidity while in use, but gives them the flexibility they need to survive all the crane and wagon rides they are expected to survive.
Defenses
They are thick wooden planks, but they burn very well.
