Luna

The smaller of Tellus' two moons, Luna is in a Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) that comes as close as eighty-six thousand miles to the planet. It has recently been discovered that it is, in fact, a hulking remnant of some sort; the remains of some type of structure.

Geography

Over the eons, dust has built up on external surfaces, but they are still barren and devoid of atmosphere. It is inside the structure that life thrives, within the labyrinthine mass of twisting tunnels and rooms.

Ecosystem

The lighting and atmospheric systems are engineered such that their effects cascade to provide a robust and cyclical living space, with growing things being present in most of the rooms of the structure. There are entire farm complexes within, growing various foodstuffs under artificial light.   As such, there is much inm the way of insect life. In fact, one could say it is the cleverly designed insect biosphere that keeps the entire structure powered, and thriving.

Ecosystem Cycles

The cycles are not the same as a planetary system would be, in that they are entirely artificial, but there are times of power ebbing and flowing throughout the mutlitude of complexes.

Localized Phenomena

In no particular order:
  • Radiation storms
  • Steam jets
  • Superheated geysers
  • Small asteroid impact
  • Rapid decompression
  • Atmospheric vacuums
  • Temperature extremes
  • Vented gas build ups

Climate

There are temperature extremes on the surface of the tidally locked body, but within it is a constant 72°F.
