Hundred Years War
There came a time, when Humanity was still new here, in this land we have called Pax for time out of mind. Well, time out of mind for the humans. The memories of the Dwarves are long, though. Longer than the humans'. We write ours in stone.
Our scholars know, for instance, that our land of Pax was once called Terrapax. But this was long, long ago, before Moradin saw fit to summon our forefathers from the bones of the earth. They also know that prior to that, the entire population of Tellus was human. And that they numbered less than a hundred thousands all told! But, they disappeared when the world was Reforged. Humanity pops back up infuriatingly quickly after a disaster, after all. But the The Kobold Accord was formed, and they waged war after war upon human settlements and outposts, rural farms and stockade forts. They assaulted Humanity with the fervor of fanatics.

The Conflict
Prelude
The The Kobold Accord's formation was a kick in the pants for King Pladimus Siltte, who immediately began a campaign to unite the armies of all of the Kingdoms under one banner, and end the kobold problem once and for all.
Battlefield
Midcountry, amidst the trees of The Impenetrable Forest of Birkwud , there lies a fallow area no one will build upon or farm, for fear of finding skeletons and waking ghosts.
Conditions
The High King chose his position carefully, so they had the high ground atop a steep hill.
The Engagement
The Kobold armies broke into a charge as soon as they saw the High King and his retinue sitting there, atop their horses, at the summit of that hill. But as they charged, the king's true armies emerged at a full run from either side of the lonely little hill. They boxed the entire kobold army in what one of the King's advisors called 'the gauntlet maneuver'.
Outcome
The kobolds were driven underground for the next twenty years.
Aftermath
A fallow field, all overgrown with superstition. An alliance that would last centuries. Safety for his people.
