Book IV | Chapter I | Bargains in Beacon Report
General Summary
Upon arriving in Beacon on the 16th of Raindraw, the party partially split up. Verst, who had been riding at the back of the train on one of the open cargo carts, was forced off at the Scugs by members of the Beacon City Watch. Seeing this, Tourmaline and Silas hopped off to make sure that Verst didn't get into too much trouble.
The rest of the party remained on the Train, and arrived at the Under Ward, the massive subterranean district of Beacon that houses most of the city's train and transportation infrastructure. Both Cards and Rowan made sure to dawn disguises before leaving the train to ensure that they would not be
Upon exiting the Train, the party were greeted by Modi Handal, a local follower of Eccistianism who had changed his name to "Imgu Lible" at the behest of Ecci. Imgu Lible began to lead the party towards one of the mechanical lifts that took individuals of wealth and prestige from the Under Ward up to the Hilltop Ward, but on the way the party was attacked.
Cloaked assassins attempted to capture Ecci through magically created smokescreens, but were thwarted by the party. After recovering from the battle, they were escorted onto one of the elevators by the Beacon City Watch and were lifted up to the Hilltop Ward.
At the Hilltop Ward, the party split up once again; Cards, Ecci, Cass, and Jack went to the Hilltop Hall of Justice to see Magistrate Samson Arwyle, while Modi Handal and Oliver went to Maker's Square to inquire about Abigail O'Connell.
