Book I | Chapter III | The Dominion {Report}
General Summary
On the 26th of Rimefall, the assembled party met at the Shock and Awl in Deadplains to discuss the pending arrival of the Iron Dominion's Census Taker. The revelation that the Census Taker would be accompanied by a platoon of Iron Regiment soldiers and several Strikers was shared with the party, and Adrian Lawrence was brought over to discuss potential options for dealing with this issue.
The party and Sheriff Lawrence decided on creating a diversion that would provide a reason to evacuate the town of Deadplains without drawing undue attention to themselves through the setting of a wildfire on the plains north of the town. The plan went smoothly, until Omar Uqban and an associate of his seemingly figured out who was responsible for starting the fire. As the town evacuated, the party went toe-to-toe with Omar and his friend on the steps of the Deadplains Mission as the town burned around them. At the end of the battle, both Omar and his companion were slain, as well as the strange insect-like creature that Omar's friend summoned to help them in the battle.
The party looted the bodies of both Omar and his friend, and then finished their final preparations before leaving Deadplains for their next destination.
