Act II | Chapter IV | Loose Ends Report
General Summary
Immediately following the events of Act II, Chapter III - Consequences, the party quickly looted their fallen foes, finding a Wand of Sleep and 15 Gold Pieces between their attackers. They also discovered a tattoo bearing the insignia of the Fisherman's League on one of their attackers. To help avoid being followed, the party once again split up; Munia Ingens and Sassa Parizi took to the skies, while Gloria Thimble, Bartolomeo and Dundra McFearson ran on foot.
While Munia and Sassa remained relatively undetected, the three party members on foot were not so lucky. Gloria was almost immediately recognized by a friend of her parents, who began loudly making a fuss over Gloria's recent activities; in order to limit the impact this could have on her friends, Gloria stayed with this friend of her folks and bade her companions continue on. Even without Gloria, Bartolomeo and Dundra managed to draw plenty of attention to themselves. In particular, Dundra was recognized by at least six passersby as the infamous pirate of the Residian.
They found that the magic on the door had been deactivated; instead of the vast interior of The Perch they had come to expect, they found a dingy, seemingly abandoned room. Upon closer inspection, Sassa noticed a pigeon perched in the rafters of the room, watching the four of them intently.
With the help of Munia's casting of Speak with Animals, the party learned that the Pigeon was actually Dalius's doorman, reverted to its previous state for privacy and security. Through questioning, the party learned that Dalius had meet with a woman of some importance earlier that morning, and had been escorted away from The Perch alongside the woman by members of the Cavanotte, elite soldiers tasked with guarding the Merchant Lords, Guild Leaders, and Grand Duke of Vecos. As best as the party could make out, Dalius, the Woman, and the Cavanotte left in a carriage heading towards the Eye of Vecos.
Before leaving, Munia planted some pea seeds in The Perch, and the party left the pigeon doorman with a note to give Dalius should he return:
"Concerned Citizens request consultation. We need more information, as there have been concerning developments. Please contact us soon."
Seemingly at a dead end and without their only true local, the party returned to their home and waited for Gloria. As they waited, Munia tended to her subterranean garden and found that the insect population of her thicket had doubled both in population and physical size. The Bugs requested more thicket, and asked for water; Munia obliged, and told them that if they dug a hole, she would fill it with water for them.
Not content with watching Munia whisper sweet nothings to her bugs all night long, Sassa, Dundra and Bartolomeo left the house to visit a tavern. While they were gone, Munia turned away a gruff looking halfling who was asking for Gloria.
