Peakriser

Traxin continued to dig. He was too deep to go back up now. He was close. Very close. Closer than anyone else has ever been to Peakriser... maybe. His weave sensor had picked up a heavy signature just an hour ago. Traxin continued to dig. Spell after spell, he moved closer to the source of the magic. He spit out another wake stone and popped his last one into his mouth, sucking on the flavored rock as it renewed his energy.   As he continued downward, his weave sensor began to hum vigorously from his hip. He tapped on the device, and his vision exploded with magical auras surrounding him... and moving closer. Then began the rumbling...
Peakriser is the legendary weapon depicted in the myth Hakalta's Hammer. It is said to be a weapon with the ability to create mountains when it strikes the ground. Researcheers theorize that though it's magical power may not be nearly that strong, it still likely has very potent magic within it.

Appearance

The appearance of the weapon is vague and never explicitly mentioned in any widely accepted version of the myth, although storytellers often take liberties to describe it how they envision it. All that is known historically of the weapon is that it is a large warhammer, likely some sort of cold iron.

Historical Significance

The myth states that the hammer would be found again "when it is needed most," to which small folk have been searching for ever since their recovery from the Emergence. The motives of the small folk vary, whether fame, fortune, or as a tool to increase their power against the titan folk. The giants, unlike the small folk, have not been actively searching for the weapon, believing that the weapon does not need to be hunted for, rather it will turn up naturally.   This article was created for Summer Camp 2020
