Rorian Jetfish

The Jetfish is a sleek green-blue fish with small sideways front fins. It's name derives from it's ability to propell itself through the ocean using jets of water. It generates these using a muscular dorsal bladder that runs the entire length of it's body. Water enters the bladder through a diversion in the mouth and is expelled at high pressure out of two ports either side of it's tailfin.   Jetfish use their high speed to escape predators, ambush slower fish, or even take down low-flying birds.
