Jun Family

Imperial family of the Eyaw Empire. Their rule started in the year 3783, when the then ruling family lost their power due to focusing too much on returning to the Plane of Air, and thereby ignoring important issues raised by their people.

Appearance

Most members of the Jun family have bright gold feathers with long tails. Their heads are crowned by a literal crown of blue feathers, which they can prop up or lay back. The usual sexual dimorphism of the Aarakocra is not present in the Jun family, and the family keeps the gender of the children relatively secret, leading to general speculation among the population whenever a child reaches marrying age.

In commoners clothes

One of the first Jun princes accidentally created a strange tradition. Done with the pampering and groveling of the servants, he traveled regularly outside the palace "disguised" in commoners clothes. Since that time, every now and then members of the imperial family will exit the palace without obvious guards, and wearing a dark blue mantle similar to the one the prince wore. Clothed like this, the citizens are instructed to treat the "disguised" royal like one of them. Some members will go so far as to preform basic tasks for anyone who asks their assistance.   These outings serve a dual purpose. It allows the royals to get away from the sometimes overly stuffy palace. But more importantly, they serve as a reminder not to make the same mistakes that the previous ruling family made, and keep remembering the needs of the common people.

Symbolism

The symbol of the Jun family is a golden feathered dragon.
