The Smiley Crime Family

Structure

The Smiley Crime Family is led by its Don, Roy Smiley. Roy was a troubled youth, building up a name for himself on the streets of Aethos. Early on he involved his brothers, Joe and Carlo Smiley, in his criminal dealings creating quite the crime family over the decades. His brothers still serve as his inner circle, giving him some of his most trusted advice. The only other member of his inner circle is his wife, Evelyn Smiley.
Under the inner circle is the capos. These members of the family led smaller localized teams who coordinate most of the criminal activities of the gang including aquiring and selling drugs, hitmen, protection racketing, fencing and weapons trafficking. Many of these Capos are family members or people whom have married into the family.
Under the capos are the grunts. These individuals carry out the day to day orders of the capos.
The family employs an enforcer, named Brutus whom handles dirty work directly for the Don and his inner circle. The only other staff position of note is the face of the organization, whom represents the Smiley family in all public matters.

Culture

The Smiley Crime family is the largest and most successful crime family on Atala. It has acheived and retained this status because of some of its core values. The family values loyalty above all else. They are incredibly loyal to each other and to their employees. They will not hire anyone to work for them that has anything but a perfect reputation and is not already under the employ of another organization. 
Those who are known to break the loyalty of the Smiley Crime family are known to show up dead. A perculiar commonality between all of these former employees is that they have a smile on their face.

History

The Smiley Crime Family started as an amalgmation of the criminal enterprises of  the Smiley Brothers. By the time of its founding, Roy Smiley was already a formidible crime boss in Aethos. To protect the family and its assets, Roy decided to formalize the criminal orgization, folding his brothers enterprizes into the larger entity.
