General House Rules
Fundamental Changes:
- In addition to published D&D content we will also be allowing Strongholds and Followers. If there is additonal homebrew content that you believe should be included please send it along.
- If two player controlled characters are next to each other in the initiative order then their initiative is shared. Both characters can act at the same time.
- Players may retain multiple instances of inspiration for good character work. You may not reroll a dice more than once.
- Anyone can cast any Spell scroll from any class list (even if it is not their own or they do not have the spellcasting feature).
- A spell caster may cast a spell from their class list that is higher than they could normally cast at the risk of character death (with no resurrection). The DC is 5 for every level above what they could cast. Eg. a wizard that can cast lvl 3 spells would require a 30 to cast level 9 spells [5*(9-3)]. A natural 20 always succeeds.
- Before every long rest there will be a period of in character work. This will symbolize the characters talking and socializing outside of the general story. The format will change at GM discretion. Short rests will also trigger this at GM discretion.
- Failed death saves are cumulative and reset after a long rest.
- Creatures sustain a lingering injury when it drops to 0 hit points but isn't killed outright, which requires requires a Constitution saving throw with DC 15 to see if a character suffers an injury rolled on the Injuries table.
- When a creature takes damage from a single source equal to or greater than half its hit point maximum, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw with DC 15 or suffer a random effect determined by a roll on the System Shock table.
