The Vanoc is a sleek and sturdy brigantine, its wooden hull crafted from the finest timber and reinforced with iron bands for added durability. Its two masts tower above the deck, each adorned with billowing sails dyed a deep indigo. The figure head is a bronze octopus that tentacles wrap around the front of the boat.
Lanterns suspended from the rigging cast a warm glow across the deck during the night. The deck itself is spacious yet well-organized, with coiled ropes and barrels of supplies neatly stowed away. At the stern, the captain's quarters overlook the sea, their windows offering panoramic views of the horizon. Below deck, the galley is where the ship's cook prepares meals for the crew. It is a cramped but functional space, with a large stove for cooking and shelves stocked with provisions. Barrels of fresh water are stowed nearby, along with sacks of flour, barrels of salted meat, and other essential supplies. Also located below deck is the ship's infirmary, where the ship's healer tends to the crew's injuries and ailments. It is a clean and orderly room in the corner of the galley, a neatly made bed, shelves stocked with bandages, herbs, and potions. A small porthole lets in a sliver of sunlight, brightening the infirmary and lifting the spirits of its occupants. Beneath the galley is the cargo hold, where the ship's precious cargo is stored. It is a cavernous space left empty for the party to use as their private space. Lanterns hang from the ceiling, casting a warm glow across the cargo hold.
The Vanoc is a merchant vessel and does not have any weapons to defend itself, instead relying on the Silk Navy to keep it safe, the crew do carry weapons to make sure that they aren’t completely defenseless.
For the trip to Esane the cost is not cheap, for hiring the ship Captain Aric wants 15,000g gold up front, the party must also provide food and water for the trip. The party will be given the cargo hold as their personal space, they can use it to keep any goods they want and will be able to use it as their private quarters.

Journey to The Silent Sea
It will take 6 days to arrive at the edge of the silent sea however most of the trip is relatively safe for the party due to the waters they are sailing in as they set sail the first day is crystal clear glassy water, beneath the water there is a massive colourfilled coral reef filled with sea life. During this time the party is able to do whatever they would like to spend their time doing.
On the 2nd day the party will be alerted to a shipwreck 100ft down. If they decided to swim down they will see a merchant ship which sunk around a year ago, now reclaimed by the sea the ship has had most its possessions swept away with the tides and most of the ship has fallen apart, a small hole in the side of the ship leads into what would have been a storage area, the interior is pitch black and mostly empty except for a small jewelry box, inside is a silver ring. Which gives a +1 to all Arcana and History checks.
On the 4th day the party sails in favorable conditions. The winds are strong and the sea is calm, the mood on the crew is calm and spirits are high. Towards the end of the day a slight mist rolls in, hugging the ocean. That night while the party rests a bell rings from on deck. In the crows nest Sari seemed to notice something in the distance on the water, the party takes note of the lack of wind or waves the boat is crawling along, a set of red dots 70ft from the boat draws their attention as if there is a pair of eyes looking at them. While the party is distracted they are attacked from the other side of the boat. The party is attacked by two mindflayers and 5 Sahuagin thralls, the mind flayers sit either side of the boat, the Shauagin attempt to drag the crew off the boat into the waters while the mind flayers assist from a distance.
On the 6th day in the morning the boat is intercepted by a massive galleon known as “The Pride of Tirell” a beauty to behold, fitted with extra sails made out of light but strong spider silk, the ship has had some of its reinforcing timbers removed to make it lighter. The front of the ship is decorated with the gleaming silver crest of the Tirell family, its reflection famously blinding the Dread Pirate Greyshanks. They are boarded by Kolby Tirell, a silk navy Admiral, Short for a Half-elf standing at 5ft 10. Bright red hair tied into a ponytail. He keeps himself clean shaven at all times Kolby takes pride in his appearance and is always seen in his full Naval officers uniform. In the distance 10 more galleons can be seen a few miles back. Kolby will warn The Vanoc that they are several hours from sailing into the Silent Sea, when they tell him of their plan he will be impressed at their sense for adventure.
