Osca
The surrounding countryside is covered in sprawling fields of wheat, cotton, and livestock. As the sight of the blue ocean comes into view, a massive walled city rests on the edge of the coast. On a clear day you can see across the ocean to Hirokita. A cobbled road leads toward the city gates for the last mile upon approach. Osca’s two massive wooden gates are watched over by Silk Legion guards. The inner city is a maze of cobbled streets flanked by small two story buildings and homes made of stone and wood.Osca sits isolated from the other major cities of Faloura, due to this it doesn't trade as frequently as the other cities instead it has built its economy and reputation as home to the greatest ship builders in the world. High quality wood is farmed just outside the city which is then processed in the city's many lumber yards, the wood is then taken to one of Osca’s many dry docks where multiple ships are made at a time. They use the seawall and dry docks to control the water in the harbour from spill over into the dry docks and to allow for calm waters to add final touches to the boats while they are floating on the water. While Osca is famed for its ships, it also supplies the majority of farmed goods throughout Faloura. Livestock and crop fields surround the city and sprawl across the countryside. The closest fields to the city are generally dedicated to the growing of cotton, flax, and hemp used in the making of rope and sails.
The Orbal family is an Orchish family led by Tulgan Orbal. It’s not uncommon to find members of the family down in the drydocks working on ships or making sails in the warehouse district. The Orbals have a strong work ethic which typically leaves them as outcasts among the other noble families in Faloura.
While Osca was involved in The War of the Six Ports they took more of a defensive stance and never engaged as the aggressor. This didn’t mean they were a weak force by any means but the Orbals, originally refugees from Lydren themselves, knew the price of war better than most and stood firmly against exacting that toll on their people again. When the war was drawing to a close, and the cities looked to form the council, the Orbals were fast to adopt the peaceful solution and worked tirelessly to see an end to the war.
This work ethic has led to the wide expansion of the Orbal family into every corner of Faloura. You’ll normally find several businesses set up by the sprawling family network in every major city all falling under the umbrella of the Orbal Seafaring and Logistics Corporation.
People of Osca
Faloura is known for its diversity but nowhere embraces that more than the port city of Osca, the area is filled with people from all different races and creeds from ex criminals to children of rich families that want a more simple life. Osca abandons the every man for himself feel which a lot of the rest of Falouras ports have, instead the city is filled with a sense of community, the merchants of the Freight District are on relatively good terms with one another, for dock workers often drink and gamble as a way to bond. Osca is a very connected port and most of the people within it are too. While different cultures and backgrounds separate each individual one thing seemingly binds the people of Osca, they all have a hard work ethic and put great pride into what they do, the ship builders will often work over 10 hours willingly if only to see a job done right. A large part of this culture stems from the noble Orbals who get their hands dirty and are often working with the common folk. This has led to a love of the Orbals throughout Osca who are admired for not looking down on the small folk like the nobles in the other port cities.Lay of the Land

Freight District
Close to the harbor district sits the Freight District which serves as the trade hub for Osca. The cobbled streets are covered in shops with a large ox pulled carts from the warehouse district unloading goods to be sold. The Silver Cutlass Blacksmith A reputable smithie that sells the finest steel in the Freight District. The shop is owned by a retired quartermaster from the Silk legion, who spent most his life in service of the legion navy. During his military career he spent countless hours crafting and repairing equipment within the ship's tiny smithie even upon stormy seas. His steady hand and liel service has earned him a large shop with a giant open forge. Anyone who enters will immediately spot him working at the forge, separated from the customer by a small wooden counter. The walls are covered in countless finely crafted weapons, mostly of the Cutlass and Rapier variety. Saltsea Bathhouse The Saltsea bathhouse was founded several generations ago by a ship engineer looking for a new less stressful career. The baths have an uncanny similarity to miniature drydocks, with small gates and tiny locks allowing water to leave and enter the large complex of hot tubs within the building. What makes the Saltsea bathhouse stand out is the exotic selection of scented bath salts prepared for the customers satisfaction. Each bath has a lever that when pulled allows fresh hot water to pour in, already mixed with the customers chosen bath salt. Osca Hall of Justice Osca takes honor and justice very seriously, any found in violation of the city's laws are processed within the Osca hall of Justice. The structure is a giant monolithic stone building, decorated with great carved scenes of historical sea battles. The court is divided into two sections, the high court and the low court. The High court deals with legal disputes between merchants, serious crimes like treason and criminal behavior among the nobility. The lower court handles petty crime, minor theft and crime among the commoners. Both wings of the court take justice very seriously, any hint of corruption or wrongful conviction is a stain on the honor of the court. Galley Bits Pawnshop The front of the shop looks like the bow of a ship, with the forward mast dangling a large sign with the shop's name over the street. The owner is a somewhat infamous adventurer known for diving into the deep ocean to dredge up old wrecks for valuables. The shop is packed with curious objects, dangling from the ceiling, walls and even in large piles on the floor. Behind his equally packed counter is a large bulky metal diving suit enchanted with endless water breathing. In addition to owning the pawn shop he provides his services as a diver to recover valuable objects for the right price. Cloak of Billowing: 190g Charlatans dice: 360g Heward’s Handy Spice Pouch: 150g High Tales Bookshop The High Tales Bookshop is built from the timbers of over a dozen old Galleons. It's clear the shop started small, but new rooms and timbers have been added over the years turning the massive bookshop into a mish-mash of grafted ship parts filled with endless bookcases. The eccentric owner was once a talented cartographer and adventurer, but now old he has dedicated his life to collecting stories from all across the high seas. The interior is a maze filled with countless books of all types, in all languages, both magical and mundane. The old man has long lost track of his collection, it will take quite a search to discover what lies within. The Mercy Tavern The Mercy is an ancient 80 cannon War Galleon, a magnificent ship built in Osca in service of the Silk Legion navy. The ship saw over a hundred years of service, gaining many accolades, until it was retired due to its aging design. When it came time to scrap the Mercy the Orbals purchased the venerable ship as it was a great source of pride to the family. So instead it was raised out of the ocean and turned into a huge tavern. The inside is homely, well lit and warm, every wall is decorated with trophies and stories telling the history of the ship to any visiting patrons. The cannon decks have been turned into fine rooms, with the old cannon ports turned into windows to provide a great view of the harbor.
