Ader Village
Dwarfed by the massive mountain range, a village made of wooden buildings with stone bases sits heavily guarded by Silk Legion troops. As you make your way into the village bunting with different crests hangs from building to building. The climate at Ader pass is incredibly humid, the hot air of Faloura mixes with cooler air from the mountains often making thick fog clouds that roll down from the mountain range. There are a few larger stables and barns where travelers keep the animals that pull their carts.
Most people who travel to Faloura do so by sea, with safe waters and luxurious port cities, most find passage on a ship. However for those living in Lydren it is far cheaper to do so on foot. Ader Pass is a well used path that winds through a gap in the Northern mountain range and is the safest route connecting Lydren and Faloura by land. Often used by merchants who take goods from Faloura into the city of Yasdren to then be sold to the rest of Lydren. Either side of the pass is guarded, in Faloura The Silk Legion are set up at Ader Village, and in Lydren the city of Yasdren is watched over by a noble Lydren family called the Lockhalls.
The village has a high concentration of guards but also is home to farmers who farm in the main land, due to the local terrain most of the produce is livestock.
Ader Pass got its name after a merchant whose first name is unknown, he is referred to by the people as either Mr. Ader or Ader. Back when Lydren was ruled by the Orcish Hordes the Elves and Dwarfs that inhabited the forests and mountains were hunted and slaughtered for both sport and for tributes to the Orcish gods. Even though the Orcs were incredibly blood thirsty, their leaders would allow Falourian traders into their camps to trade steal and fabrics, not many were brave enough to venture into Lydren but those who did could turn a healthy profit as the Orcs had no use for the gold and trinkets they pillaged. One of these Merchants was Ader. He is an unknown race and age, but what is known was after a few trips north he rescued refugees sneaking them out of the country and into the safety of Faloura. During The Great Orcish War the once dominant Orcs were now being driven to near insinction, Ader who had spent his life around Orcs had come to know them as not all bloody, thirsty and violent. He sawt out a way to save those innocent Orcs and move them to safety. Along the pass that Ader once used to save the lives of those looking to escape from the Orcs, he was now using to save the lives of the Orcs. For many years Ader moved refugees from Lydren to Faloura until one day a military company from Lydren who were hunting a group that Ader was moving caught up with Ader. All it took was a single arrow to pierce his heart and end his noble life. Luckily the family he was moving to were able to escape to safety, and a few years later were built a port town in the east. With the wealth they made over the years a village in tribute to the man was built where he fell, and so Ader Village was built.
Dawe Feather Cottages
On the far end of the town a set of identical cottages are lined up each one has a small sheltered space next to them to keep wagons dry, on the other side a set of small stables are large enough to keep a pair of horses. The entire complex is kept inside a small wooden fence and by the entrance a larger house acts as a welcoming hall. Walking inside the building there is a few coaches for waiting guests, directly opposite the door a large desk which serval books to keep track of guests, on a ring of the bell on the desk a Halfling female in simple brown clothes wearing an apron will greet you her name is Marge and she is the owner of the cottages.
The Bell & Bat
One of the largest buildings outside of the guard towers in Ader Village. Tables and chairs are messily arranged all over the two story drinking hall, a large bar with just two barmaids are manically running from visitor to visitor, for those who wish to book a room they are best finding Glenn on the 2nd floor. Rooms aren’t overly impressive, each has two single beds and a small set of draws. Most who stay here only do for one night as they pass through so not much is done to cater to a high standard, The Bell & Bat supplies a warm bed and a dry roof and for most travelers that's more than enough.
Food and drink are available at the Inn from Ales that are imported from Lydren, to the fine wines Velia supplies the Bell & Bat has an impressive collection of drinks. When it comes to food the selection is less impressive and is made up of local produce.
Guard Towers
At the foot of the large cliff faces at the foot of the surrounding mountains two tall towers are built into the stone, each tower has a ballista mounted on the top and are heavily guarded by Silk Legion troops.
Folkers Curiosities
The Village has a small trading square mostly for traveling merchants to trade goods between one another, but there is a small shop that exists to sell general travel goods. Inside the building a low ceiling with wooden beams houses a neat collection of goods travelers may need, from ropes to maps to rations.
