When Elliot was a child he witnessed a confrontation between the supervillain Starbinder and a group of heroes. Starbinder was defeated but blasted an apartment building with Starforce to create a diversion so he could escape. Elliot was caught in the blast and absorbed the Starforce, preventing the building’s destruction and granting him great power.
