The Ascalan military

The Country of Ascala has a constant border struggle with the monsters that reside in the half of the continent full of life. The constant struggle causes the Ascalan military to hold a large amount of political power.

Composition

Equipment

carries a swiss army knife and light rations.

Weaponry

Every soldier gets one standard issue gun from the place no god knows and the higher ups get access to specialized guns which are able to fire without any actual heat being released by the weapon. The care and maintenance of the guns are highly important to the soldiers and you have to apply to get a new one if yours is damaged. At the beginning of their training every soldier picks one bladed weapon and starts to train in that weapon.

Structure

When you first get deployed into the forest depends on how desperate the situation is and the potential of improvement more training would give you. Once your deployed into the forest you are tasked on the actual border to defend against anything that tries to come out of the forest. After a sufficient amount of time which can be quickened if you have had more actual experience the soldier joins a group of people led by a commander and try to enter a tiny portion of the forest trying to gain ground. After doing this for a while the soldier gets access to his specialized gun and joins a small group of one to three people the less people the more skill and starts delving into the forest with the goal to assassinate any monsters that seem to be leaders. After this they become a commander and train soldiers slightly in the forest. And finally after this they take a political or strategic role in the military. During any of this process if the soldier gets a major injury they take a more minor role in the more bureaucratic elements of the military.

Tactics

Has a few highly specialized personnel that goes out and kills the more dangerous beings in the forest while a large group defends the border and tries to move forward if possible.

Training

Because of the amount of dangers in the forest of monsters the Ascalan military tries to give as much training as possible with a focus on training instincts and masked abilities. They all have training in firearms as well as being at least moderately proficient in a bladed weapon.

Upkeep

Ascala uses their superior technology and organized power system to keep the military going despite the constant costs and man that the military needs.

Recruitment

Anybody mask or not can apply to be in the military and be provided for though they do value the masked more. There are certain types of masks that automatically are entered into the military.

History

The actual structure of the Ascalin military is too old to know the exact time of founding.
