I have spent the last six days on the dive platform, except for Sunday when I decided to follow Gran's example and I went to chapel then made a surprise visit to a local homeless shelter. One of the young men, maybe a year younger than me, was in line for lunch. He wore a rainbow ribbon on his wrist. I asked him about it.
He told me that after he came out to his parents they kicked him out. It broke my heart.
Of course my life is so much more complicated than it should be, but I never worried about them -- my family -- kicking me out, or not having a home.
Today I finally had a meeting with the Coach. It was amazing because he asked me to be the team captain!
CAPTAIN!!!
