I had supper with Gran tonight. I was admittedly a bit petulant. I told her that I love keeping my diary, but I shouldn't have how I do it dictated by what Grandpapa thinks future historians will like best and also why does he know what my diary entries look like.
Gran's sigh was impressive. She said he did the same thing to Papa years ago and back then he'd admitted to having removed a few volumes from the archive. Back then.
I have decided to remove all six previous journals of my own from the archives at Windsor. They can stay in my library here at St. James until at lease Papa's accession.
Since Anne and I will be in New Zealand on my birthday, Gran gave me my birthday gift at supper. It's a beautiful, Montblanc fountain pen with "Sebastian" inscribed on it.
She told me that it's a great pen for keeping a diary with as well as correspondence. It'll stay on my person most times.
Gran told me that if my diaries are organized by date, than I should keep it in a way that works best for me.
When I said I'd keep my diaries in my library, she made a face but didn't say anything. I'm rather certain she feels they should be in the archives, but she did not give any instruction to not keep them.
Tomorrow, Anne and I leave for New Zealand.
