Today was a stressful day to say the least. While at breakfast, Gran received word that the Prime Minister had forced the resignation of nearly all of Cabinet. He left only the Foreign Secretary, and ambitious woman called Lauren Weathersby.
Chaos at Downing Street means anxiety, wherever the Sovereign is.
I do think it was a good thing for Alex to see, to get an idea of what our lives outside of Eton can be.
Grandpapa tried to get Alex to go stalking with him. Alex had none of it. Instead we spent the day riding horses, despite the mud.
Getting back to the house, it was clear that Downing street's issues were still quite present. At supper Gran seemed furious and barely said a word. After a very tense first course, it became clear that Papa was irritated too. He suggested that she wouldn't be happy until she'd discussed the situation with the PM face to face and to remember that the PMs government is formed in her name.
Long story short, the Prim Minister's plane is expected to touchdown at Aberdeen airport at about 10:30 tomorrow morning. I don't think she'll ask for his resignation, but I do think she'll want a very good explanation.
Alexander has been with us for the last week. He's staying through sunday the 12th.
I'm staying through the 17th so that I'm here for Annie's birthday on the 15th, before I retur to Eton to start training for this years diving fixtures. God will I'll be cleared for the three meter by the first fixture and the ten meter by Christmas.
