Papa had Anne, Rory and I join him at Buckingham Palace today for the Christmas luncheon with the family not invited to Sandringham. I was actually surprised he included Rory. I wonder if he knows.

Impossible. I only went to Mappin & Webb's this morning. It's beautiful. And it's one of ours. It's pretty simple, but it has a ring of stones set around the full band. The stones go back at least to the start of the Hanovarians. Gran had them set in a brooch. That was important. I want him to have something of Gran's. It feels warm in my pocket as we're sitting here on the train. It's like it's wearing a hole in my pocket.
