We arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia around 12:00 local time, just as Rory and I were finishing lunch. We were shepherded rather quickly to a Royal Canadian train. It is not a Royal Train, rather it's a railroad that is called Royal Canadian. Three private cars had been attached to the back of the train.
I do have to say that rail is a wonderful way to see the countryside. So far the downside of this rail trek appears to be the fact that the beds in my sleeping car are single, which means for the first time in a very long time, I won't be falling asleep with Rory.
We have several days before we meet the Prime Minister in Toronto. He's planning something apparently and I'll address Parliament in Ottawa. It will be fairly lengthy stay compared to others, but Canada is enormous.
