To day was the day I took my first steps to truly being a British prince. I signed the carter founding a trust in my name, The Prince's Homeless Youth Trust. We specifically chose to keep any reference to sexuality out of the name. Even stil it is quite clear in the chartering documents that the beneficiaries of the charity would mostly be queer youth.
The hope is that with this new organization, some of the gaps or all the gaps from one shelter or charity to another would be filled by the Trust. With the Trust leveraging itself and it's assets, some quite considerable, the Trust should be able to negotiate better rates for letting space for shelters and food distribution . It will help eliminate the competition between unaffiliated shelters. If this continues to go well, we hope to create an organization that gets ride of the individual fighting for scraps. With the Trust, hopefully it will be less individual and more collective. It takes community to make up the failings of fail parents.
