Avian Eye

Utility

It was created by Elwood Olivander to allow humans to utilize the mystical abilities associated with Argent oil for more efficiently. It allows the user to inject the fluid into the cerebral fluid surrounding the brain.

Manufacturing

Avian Eye's are typically sold as a set of parts. There is the basic eyeplate, the bit of metal that will replace the eyelids and serve to hide the now fleshless cavity that would normally hold the eye. It is placed directly in the eye cavity, after the yes removal, and then precisely secured in place with small screws in the skull. Along with the eyeplate are the lenses. Since the reconnection of the optical nerves through the properties ofArgent oil is not exact, lenses are needed to focus the eyesight. These are sold in bundles of three or four lenses depending on the company, and are attached to the eyeplate on the outside of the face, allowing for one or more lenses to swing on an arm in front of the eye or to the side of the face if one wishes. The rims surrounding the lenses are also sold in a variety of materials, and even styles. The eyeplate and the lenses are the only components that can be seen most of the time, but there is also the extraction needle, the Argent transmitter, and the cerebral connector. These are as they sound, the needle is used to puncture the container of Argent oil, which is then pushed through the Argent transmitter (essentially a tube leading to the brain from the eye), and finally pushed into the cerebral fluid via the cerebral connector. These three components are not stylized, and the materials must be made from titanium. The cerebral connector serves as a one way connector to the cerebral fluid surrounding the brain, Argent oil can be pushed in, but cerebral fluid cannot come out; it also regulates how much Argent oil is extracted based on the pressure of the skull produced by that fluid. These are all sold in small bundles, so an individual may inspect their components, and choose which styles they want. After that, one may undergo the surgery needed to implant it, which obviously involves the removal of one eye.

Access & Availability
Avian eyes are fairly expensive, so its use is primarily for noble, and wealthy merchants. But with the tech booming in popularity, many less reputable companies have created far cheaper alternatives for peasants.
Complexity
The construction of them is not very complex, in fact, most of the technology is rather basic. What makes it expensive is the medical procedure to get one. Although, the cerebral connector is a very complex component, able to measure the pressure of the skull, and allow a one way fluid transmission.
Discovery
Created by Elwood Olivander, he found that injecting Argent oil strait into the cerebral fluid surrounding the brain made ones Thaumaturgic abilities far more potent and efficient when compared to ingestion. As an added benefit, the properties of Argent oil and the design of Avian eye's allows the user to receive optical sensory input from the container of Argent oil used in conjuncture with the eye, allowing one to see from it as long as there is still oil in the container.
