After the world changing event known as the Moonfall when one of the moons crashed into the other, showering Tath in moon meteors, communication with other continents became non-existent. While it's unknown how life continued past this cataclysm elsewhere, the split continent of the Beastlands, Heartlands, and the Faewood Isle have rebuilt and even thrived in the two thousand years since nearly all life was wiped out. The Heartlands are home to the original sentient species of humans, dwarves and halflings, with parts of the Beastlands being included in the human Heartsea Alliance.
