Choaphuak

Choaphuak, the divine architect known as "the Mole," is revered for his mastery over stone and architecture, symbolized by the grand Tai Pyramid he constructed. As one of the revered leaders among the ogres, his legacy endures through the ages, embodying the spiritual and creative essence of the Anachak Empire.

History

Legend speaks of Choaphuak, the enigmatic figure known as "the Mole," whose legacy is etched into the very stones of Gorm's history. Once a mere ogre, Choaphuak ascended to godhood alongside three other esteemed leaders: Mangkong the Dragon, Panin the Moray, and Insi the Eagle. Together, they formed the spiritual backbone of the Anachak Empire, guiding their people through times of turmoil and prosperity alike. It was Choaphuak's divine hand that shaped the majestic Tai Pyramid, a testament to his mastery over stone and architecture, and a beacon of the empire's grandeur. Through their collective wisdom and power, the four ogre gods elevated themselves to divine status, shaping the fate of Gorm for millennia to come.   Choaphuak's main temple stands as a testament to his divine craftsmanship and unwavering devotion, nestled within the heart of Ank, the city he himself helped to build. Towering spires and intricate carvings adorn its grand façade, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail that defines Choaphuak's architectural legacy. Within its hallowed halls, worshipers gather to pay homage to the divine architect, offering prayers and tributes in reverence to his boundless wisdom and creative prowess. As the cornerstone of Ank's spiritual landscape, the temple serves as a sacred sanctuary where believers seek solace and inspiration, guided by the enduring presence of their patron deity.   Choaphuak's legacy extends beyond mere architectural marvels to the creation of two monumental pyramids, each steeped in history and legend. The Pyramid of Light, also known as Sivid Pyramid, stood as the principal temple of the Thebachao, a sacred sanctuary where they were worshipped and revered by their followers. Conversely, the Pyramid of Shadows, also known as Sivid Pyramid, a sprawling complex used as a laboratory and testing ground by the Thebachao, bore witness to countless experiments and arcane rituals. Within its depths, the Thebachao sought to extend their lifespans and amplify their powers, shaping the course of history with their ambition. However, tragedy befell the Thebachao when the Sivid Pyramid was submerged, claiming many artifacts along with it, and plunging the Thebachao into darkness.   As time marched inexorably forward, so too did the forces of chaos and dissent. The rise of the Kresh Tak cult marked the beginning of a tumultuous period known as Sudrakhai, during which the Anachak Imperium met its tragic demise. Though the Thebachao's subjects emerged victorious, the gods themselves fell to the relentless onslaught of the Blood Beasts, their bodies interred within the Tai Pyramid, forever sealed by the passage of time.

Appearance and symbols

Choaphuak's appearance was a striking amalgamation of ogre brawn and mole-like features, his towering frame exuding a sense of strength and resilience, while his visage bore the distinctive markings of his namesake creature. With a broad, furrowed brow and small, beady eyes, he commanded a presence that was both imposing and enigmatic. His symbol, a stylized representation of a mole emerging from the earth, embodied his affinity for excavation and construction, serving as a testament to his divine mastery over the earth itself. Embossed in stone or etched onto ancient artifacts, this symbol invoked a sense of reverence and awe.
