Gnomes

While Gnomes are often used as a generic catch all term for the species of short highted, big nosed and curious fellas that are Gnomes there are in fact two different type of Gnomes. The divide between these gnomes is said to have been a historical one as Gnomes claim to be one of the youngest intellectual creatures on Tannar. The story Gnomes tell is that the early god who created the Gnomes in his image decided that instead of creating simply a species and placing them on the new material world that had been made, that research and testing was needed so taking his original creation he placed supposedly 50 of these gnomes in the reserve, the are in which all magic exists and is stored, a wild and chaotic land that whenever identified and labeled changes to refuse that. He then took 50 other Gnomes of this first batch and placed them in the Fey, another wild and chaotic land but already filled with creatures who create that chaos. Then after a few centuries of having his creatures exist in these separate lands he took and placed them on a desolate island to see if they could work together, and found quickly that they couldn't. While those who had been kept in the Reserve tried to make clear and identify all that was new searching to understand their world. Those in the fey almost acted as a hindrance to this plan, pranking the emotionally reserved gnomes who did not like this, one bit.
This is the supposed story of this divide, which exists to this day between the Feyborn and the Reserveborn.
