Drekanik

A crucial military garrison during the time of the Second Empire the city of Drekstett developed a unique culture separate to that of the rest of the north which is still maintained to this day, more militaristic and closer to the Tefarani western one with a dialect that historically have borrowed more from Zarrashi than the rest of the coast. The name Drekanik is in itself a reference to the people living around the Drek's relation to the Tefarani Empire, taking the Drek from Drekstett and adding ani at the end like Tefar-ani. The Drekanik people as of a result is often seen with distaste or disslike by the rest of the coast and it did not help that during the civil war the, then ruling family of the Drek tried to conquer Kenirr in one of the early and most successful attempts.
